Add custom documents to your Boosted.ai profile

You can add custom documents directly to your profile for Boosted Insights to review.

Adding a custom document enables Boosted Insights to perform a more holistic analysis for you, integrating information that is not publicly available into its results.

Upload a custom document to your profile

To upload a custom document, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Boosted.ai profile
  2. Click on Tools at the top of your screen
  3. Select My Documents from the drop-down menu
  4. Click Upload
  5. Drag and drop your file into the upload box
  6. Finish uploading your document by clicking Upload

Note: Only text found in PDFs is supported at this time.

Understand the status of your custom document upload

Uploading a custom document to your Boosted.ai profile takes time, as Boosted Insights must process the information in the document.

Processing
When you upload a document, the first status you see is the Processing status. This means that Boosted Insights is still analyzing the information within the document, and has not yet integrated it into the results in your profile.

Available
Once Boosted Insights is finished analyzing your custom document, your document will move to the Available status. This means that the document has been successfully uploaded and the information is present in your profile.

Error
In the event that a document cannot be processed, an error state will occur. In this case, make sure to check the format of your document (must be a PDF) and size (must be less than 100MB).

Benefits of uploading custom documents to Boosted.ai

Summarizing information within the document

Each custom document will have a Boosted Summary that you can export to a CSV and share as needed. This summary gives you both a short and long synopsis of topics found within your uploaded document.

Integrating the documents’ information into your Boosted.ai profile

Uploading a document to your Boosted.ai profile means that you’re giving a piece of information that is exclusive to your team to Boosted Insights for analysis. This information is integrated into Boosted Insights’ analysis in the same way as any publicly available piece of information, with the caveat that it is only available to individuals directly within your team.

After uploading a custom document, Boosted Insights will read it and identify information that may be impactful towards one or more stocks. This information is then sorted into topics, which get presented to you in the corresponding stock’s News Summaries and Hypotheses as Custom Topics. These topics are flagged on your profile with a purple Custom Topic chip as seen below.

Topic Metadata
Boosted Insights treats these topics exactly as any other News Summary. After the creation of a topic, Boosted Insights generates metadata using the information in your custom document surrounding the topic. This includes descriptions, an associated sentiment (positive, negative or neutral) and an Impact score.

Positive/Negative Sentiment
Boosted Insights determines the topic’s positive or negative sentiment toward the security’s price by analyzing the topic summary. From there, it determines whether the sentiment is positive, negative, or neutral.

Important: Custom documents are shared across your entire team. For this reason, any member of your team can see a document that you upload, and vice versa.

Privacy surrounding your uploaded custom documents

We understand that privacy surrounding custom document uploads is vital to our users. Your uploaded documents are only visible within your team and are never shared with any other Boosted.ai client, or with our internal team. They are also not used to train our models.

Note: The internal Boosted.ai support team may gain access to an uploaded document only if there is a support ticket raised by a client that requires it.
