Enable updates and notifications for your analyst

One of the main benefits of Alfa is its ability to produce analysts that are constantly re-running their workflow, monitoring for changes in previous data and updating their output as new data becomes available.

When you create a new analyst, it is not automatically set up to monitor information. Instead, you must enable this for your analyst. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Select an analyst from your list of Inactive Analysts
  2. Click the Enable Updates and Lock Widgets button at the top-right of your screen
  3. Your analyst is now active

Note: Live analysts use tokens to monitor data. Make sure you are staying within your subscription token limit before enabling updates on a new analyst.

Verify the number of tokens a live analyst uses

You can check how many tokens an analyst has used by following these steps:

  1. Select your desired Active analyst
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Under Token Usage you’ll see Total Tokens Used

Update your analyst’s running cadence

Your analyst’s running cadence determines when your analyst re-runs the plan outlined in its worklog to generate an up-to-date output. By default, any live analyst is set to re-run daily at 8am. To change this, follow the steps below:

  1. Select your desired analyst
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Under Running Cadence, define your new running cadence
  4. Click Save to save your changes

Set up notifications for an active analyst

Once your analyst is active, you’ll want to set up notifications to ensure you never miss an update. To add a new notification criteria (such as “Notify me anytime a security is removed from my list”), change an existing notification criteria or to edit your list of emails for notifications, follow these steps:

  1. Select your desired analyst
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Under Notification Criteria define your new notification criteria
  4. Under Emails for Notifications add or remove any email
  5. Click Save to save your changes
